KORE has expanded its sustainable building product range with the addition of MULTITHERM 140, a high-performance wood fibre insulation board designed for roofs, walls and interior applications. The product provides builders, contractors and specifiers with a versatile natural insulation solution that combines thermal efficiency, breathability and sustainability.
As demand for sustainable construction and retrofit solutions continues to grow across Ireland, KORE’s introduction of MULTITHERM 140 strengthens its commitment to energy-efficient, healthy buildings. Suitable for deep retrofit projects, timber frame construction and low-energy new builds, the product offers flexibility across a wide range of applications.
Manufactured from natural wood fibres, MULTITHERM 140 delivers a thermal conductivity of 0.040 W/mK and is available in multiple thicknesses, making it suitable for achieving demanding thermal performance targets. Its density of 140 kg/m³ provides structural stability while contributing to excellent year-round comfort. Unlike lightweight insulation materials, wood fibre insulation has a high heat storage capacity, helping reduce summer overheating and maintain more stable indoor temperatures.
A key benefit of MULTITHERM 140 is its ability to support breathable construction. Its vapour-open properties allow moisture to move through building assemblies, helping structures dry naturally and reducing condensation risks. This makes it particularly suitable for timber frame buildings, traditional properties and retrofit projects where moisture management is critical.
The board also offers strong mechanical performance, with compressive strength of at least 100 kPa, providing durability in demanding roof, wall and façade applications. By adding MULTITHERM 140 to its product portfolio, KORE is providing Irish construction professionals with access to a renewable insulation solution that supports lower-carbon construction while delivering high thermal performance, moisture control and occupant comfort.
