United Hardware has recently announced the proposed appointment, subject to member ratification at the next AGM, of three new directors to the United Hardware DAC Board.
The new appointees are:
– Eamonn Kerr, Ferdia Homevalue, Ardee, Co. Louth
– Conall Quinn, Quinn Building Supplies, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone
– Keith Cronin, Cronin’s Homevalue, Ballylickey, Co. Cork
These appointments further strengthen the voice of the Group’s independent members at board level as United Hardware advances its plans for continued growth, network development and strategic acquisitions in 2026 and beyond.
Together, the three appointees represent a broad cross-section of United Hardware’s nationwide membership, with backgrounds spanning long-established builders’ merchants, multicategory hardware retailers and community focused Homevalue stores. Their experience serving both trade and DIY customers across Louth, Tyrone and West Cork ensures that the board continues to be shaped by the realities and opportunities facing independent merchants on the ground.
Commenting on the proposed appointments, Eoin McGettigan, Chair of United Hardware, said: “Our board is at its strongest when it reflects the diversity, ambition and experience of our member base. Eamonn, Conall and Keith each bring a deep understanding of their local markets, as well as a proven track record of building resilient, customer-focused businesses.
As we look ahead to 2026, we see significant opportunities to further grow our network through targeted member recruitment, selective acquisitions, strategic partnerships and an overwhelming focus on supporting the performance of our valued members. These appointments will play an important role in guiding that next phase of growth and ensuring we continue to deliver for independent retailers and the communities they serve.”
United Hardware, which supplies and operates the Homevalue retail brand on behalf of its members, now supports a network of over 170 independently owned and affiliate stores across Ireland, employing approximately 2,000 people, and catering to a diverse base of trade and DIY customers.
As an indigenous, locally owned and Guaranteed Irish accredited business, United Hardware remains focused on empowering local retailers with enhanced purchasing power, marketing and digital support, logistics and business advisory services, while continuing to invest in its central distribution infrastructure and brand-building activity nationwide.
