The former Sales and Marketing Director at Ames True Temper and Sales Director at McLoughlinsRS, Niall Nugent, has recently announced his new venture into consultancy.
After having spent more than 40 years in the hardware, homewares and gardening sector, Niall felt the time was right to create something fresh and exciting in the industry. Niall explains, “Having worked closely with both retailers and suppliers alike over these decades, I’ve developed a deep understanding of both the supply chain challenges and retail opportunities unique to this industry”.
Niall went on to say “My new venture will focus on connecting these two sides, helping both suppliers and retailers collaborate more effectively. In my humble opinion, I feel with a lot of transactional relationships in our industry, it can easily become very much a one-way street from both the supplier’s side as well as the retailer’s side, so where possible, I try identifying some common ground where both parties can recognise the true benefits of working together. The world of hardware retail and distribution has experienced seismic changes since 2020, and consumer expectations have also changed so it’s time for these one-way streets to become superhighways.
