Builders Providers in Ireland will soon be able to offer customers the opportunity to collect exactly the right amount of concrete, mortar or screed via a system called ‘fibo Collect’. fibo Collect is an automated batching plant, with self-cleaning technology that allows customers to order small to large quantities of concrete, mortar or screed. With orders from as little as 0.25m3. Since its UK debut in Jan 2023 the technology has been embraced by Builders merchants there.
How does it work?
Customers can choose from up to 60 customisable recipes and select the exact volume needed. Customers can either pay at the counter of the builders merchant by collecting a barcode or at the terminal via a card or RFID tag. With the single push of a button, material is carefully pan mixed and dispensed from a conveyor belt onto the back of a pickup truck or into a tub.
Who uses it?
The machine has a versatile range of end users due to its range of recipes, including contractors, small builders, landscapers, farmers, DIY’ers etc. The inclusion of additive pumps means retarders can be added to mortars prolonging their workability for up to three days.
What are the benefits?
fibo Ireland will offer these machines with a local territory agreement meaning that the vendor can create a new USP in their locality, whilst generating a healthy profit.
As summed up well by Adam Harper at Thorncliffe Building Supplies in the UK: “The fibo Collect gives customers a new alternative service in the local area and another reason to visit our branch.”
The system is manufactured by fibo intercon a/s, a Danish company that is internationally recognised as a leading global partner in innovative concrete technology.
